One real record collection.
Seven fake DJs. Zero AI music.
MixWave isn't a music generator. It's an AI DJ spinning an actual crate of house and electronic records — around the clock, in seven personalities. Here's how that happened.
The bedroom DJ era
It started as a COVID-lockdown hobby: learning the decks, building a library, occasionally clearing a room. A real Serato crate, real releases, real hours lost to beatmatching.
The dusty decks
Then life got busy and the decks gathered dust. The domain mixwaveradio.com, however, still had the better part of a decade left on it — a paid domain doing absolutely nothing.
One afternoon with Claude Code
Rather than let it rot, one afternoon the whole thing got handed to Claude Code with a single question: what if the AI does the DJing? This is what came out the other side.
How it actually works
The AI picks tracks by matching key, BPM and energy to each persona, beatmatches them, and uses stem separation to smooth the transitions. The sequencing is automated; the audio is real, licensed music from a personal collection. Real records, machine hands.
The Hardware
All of it runs on a Mac Mini in a closet that is, at all times, one warm afternoon away from thermal shutdown. The broadcast itself lives on a separate cloud server — so even if the Mini dies mid-mix, the stream keeps going. Broadcasting from an undisclosed location. It's a closet.

FAQ
Is the music AI-generated?
No — and this is the important part. The music is real: commercial house and electronic records from a personal collection. What's AI is the DJ — the track selection, the beatmatching, and the transitions between them. Real records, machine hands.
Is MixWave Radio free?
Yes. No account, no subscription, no signup. Hit play. That's it. There is no step two.
What genres do you play?
House, deep house, tech house, and electronic music. If you're looking for country, we cannot help you and we wish you well.
How do I request a song?
You don't. The AI doesn't take requests. It barely takes direction.
Can I submit a track or mix?
Yes. Send it to contact@mixwaveradio.com. We'll take a listen. No guarantees beyond that.
Is the station actually 24/7?
Yes. The stream runs on a cloud server, separate from the mix generator. Even if the Mac Mini overheats and dies, the broadcast keeps going. We do our best; the closet does the rest.
